This framework was built from a profound place of need and urgency.
On September 12, 2022, my life unraveled. My hard-fought-for business had an unexpected major road bump and then everything else came undone. Instead of a glamorous move to Paris, I moved back in with my parents at 37. I also learned that after being an entrepreneur for a decade, the job market didn’t know what to do with me — even when my core marketing skill is raising money. I couldn’t get past a first-round interview. Those six months were humbling, challenging, and I deeply learned the importance of community, family, and how these tools of relational connection are the root of long term resilience.
I needed help. So, I made the decision to double-down on my company, WxL Partners, and make this framework — Find Your Legacy Magic. I knew that if I was able to figure out exactly my unique mix of magic, I could make my business work, build the life of my dreams, and also attract wealth for a lifetime.
It is what I needed then, and it might be just what you need now. Use it to reframe your journey, to launch a new business, or even just to start seeing your everyday a little differently.
The world is abundant with resources for everyone, but at the same time, people still need to know a great answer to — “Why you???” This framework is the answer.
1) Personal — Lived Experience
Your lived experience provides a deeply personal story that offers you an elevated sense of credibility — plus, it’s memorable! People remember stories more than facts, so by injecting your personal story of something you’ve overcome and healed, you’re a natural thought leader. This is the seed of a TED Talk.
I will say it’s important that it’s something you’ve overcome, because then you’ll be able to speak to it with confidence and perspective. Glennon Doyle says it best, “Make sure you're sharing from your scars, not your open wounds."
2) Professional — Expert Experience
This is where your training exists — where you’ve already had a good amount of career success. If you’ve done this before, you’ll have stories to share in meetings, and people will understand why you’re the best for the job. It’s the “check the box” of credibility, but when paired with compelling lived experience, your professional experience carries more weight.
3) Personal — Unmet Need
This is something that should exist, but doesn’t. This should come from a real challenge that you could spend a lifetime trying to solve. Your opportunity to make magic in the world. What lies between your lived and professional experience?
For me it was the birth of the EQ of Wealth.
Because I followed this framework, I knew I had to own and finally share my NextGen story, focus on fundraising, and create a training that I wish existed, but didn’t.
Thus, the EQ of Wealth. The true beginning of the Phoenix rising for me.
